Ever thought of using cooking spray to keep your car door from freezing during the winter season?
Frozen Car Doors
Spray Pam or any generic cooking spray on the rubber gasket around the door and wipe with a paper towel. That’s it. Twice this last winter my car door has been frozen shut and it took a bit of effort to get it to open. This winter I’ll be more prepared. An ounce of prevention can alleviate stress and time and I’m all for that.
De-Icing Car Windows
To prevent your car’s windows/mirrors from icing up, grab some alcohol or vinegar and a spray bottle and put together the following solution. Simply mix together 3 parts vinegar or alcohol to 1 part water. Pour into a spray bottle and treat each night before you go to bed. And Viola, no ice will form.
Use Dry Ice for Car Dents
If you have a dent on your car (not a huge one!) try this life hack to get it out. Use dry ice to pop out dents on your car, start by putting gloves on to keep skin from being exposed to the dry ice which has been known to cause damage and burns to the skin.
Dry ice is much colder than ice made from water which is why gloves should be used when handling it. When dry ice is inhaled and used within a confined area, it can be dangerous since it converts to carbon dioxide after melting. If you inhale enough of the gas, you could pass out or worse.
Wash the area where the dent is and apply the ice which will rapidly cool the dented area. Give it a few minutes and repeat until the dent pops out and goes away. If you’ve tried this, give us your feedback and let us know how it worked for you.
